Enhance Your Self-Discipline #4

Enhance Your Self-Discipline:

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” -Socrates

Change is an important factor to improving yourself and the life you’ve earned. If you go about your life doing the same thing and exerting the same amount of effort, you’ll get the same results. There’s a direct connection between the life we have and the routines we go about, if you want change in your life you must change your routine. Be aware of which actions or habits hinder your ability to improve the quality of life you have. For example, if you notice that you’re always in a rush and never seem to have time to properly be ready for class, work, or an appointment, most likely you don’t manage your time well enough. Upon this realization of your bad habits, you must give more effort to replace it with a more beneficial one. Remember most or even all of our qualities like: self-control, memory, focus, etc. can be improved, they are skills we can spend time on and change. Do not convince yourself that your qualities are permanent by saying such phrases like: “I can’t remember things well.” or  “I’m unable to focus.”, these sayings can convince you that you’re lesser than you think. You’re more than able to improve yourself and the quality of life you’ve earned because many people in worse situations have done it. Luckily we live in a modern society that has given us more opportunities than our fellow human beings had 50 years ago. All that is required for you to have a better life, is to focus all your energy on building new routines that destroy the old ones that once hindered us. Go forth and build your new life!
