Motivational Quote of the Week (9/19/16)

Motivational Quote of the Week:

"Don't choose to waste energy. - Never waste energy on worries or negative thoughts. All problems are brought into existence - drop them." -Bruce Lee

I personally struggled with anxiety when I was growing up through my teens and early adulthood. I would constantly be worrying of previous events in my life, asking myself what I could've done to create a different outcome. I created this mental thinking habit that was obsessed on worries and negative thoughts. It was until my college years that I realized the amount of time and energy I've wasted on my worries and negative thoughts. As it took quiet sometime to change my cognitive behavior, but when I was able to go through a day without worrying or feeling anxious it was something I couldn't forget. The amount of weight that was lifted off me allowed me to focus myself on my hobbies and passion. It was one of the most freeing moments in my life, which also includes when I passed my 4th Degree Black Belt Testing.

This quote also reminds me of another famous quote by Rene Descartes: "I think therefore I am". This quote is a simple version of the Bruce Lee quote  because it argues the same idea that our own mental thinking dictates our mood and the way we perceive the world. For it's important of us to choose how we use our energy when met with great struggle. If we're able to keep our mind on being positive and productive we can always find room for improvement. But if we cloud our minds with negative thoughts and worries, we won't be able to see past them.
