Motivational Quote of the Week (8/29/16)

Motivational Quote of the Week:

"Goals give life substance. - To strive actively to achieve some goal gives your life meaning and substance." -Bruce Lee

I believe in general that we all want to live happy and fulfilling lives, though sometimes we get distracted from what creates our happiness. As Americans we're privileged to have some of the most futuristic and affordable technology at our fingertips. These devices were made to improve our lives and make our lives more enjoyable. However with such great abundance we must not forget that not every new device or technology will give our life substance. We must avoid the temptation that a new toy/device/technology will create substance and happiness in our lives. For true life fulfilling happiness comes from the goals we set for ourselves, in which the true intention of the goal was to improve your quality of life.

For example, hypothetically I work in a building with no elevator and I'm forced to walk five flights of stairs. Where every time I finally get to seat in my office chair I'm heaving and completely exhausted; having to seat and rest before starting work. Now if I wanted to improve my day to day productivity I could condition myself to be physically strong enough to withstand five flights of stair. Now I'm able to get to work without being exhausted and start my work right away. As well, my general mood would improve because of the previously stress of climbing those stairs are no longer there.

This example illustrates the basic concept behind setting goals that'll improve your daily quality of life. It's important to always ask yourself how can I improve my day to day productivity and to proactively address those issues with action. Its upon realizing that you have the power to improve your life that you start gaining confidence. Understanding this concept of goal setting can really improve your life, its just upon you whether or not you'll do something about it.
